ABOUT ASHTON WOON

Ashton Woon is a ten year old Arizona born racing who has been racing go karts since he was five years old. He is half Chinese, quarter German and quarter Italian. He spent his first few years racing kid karts where he had a lot of success. He quickly learned all the basics of racing lines, race starts, passing and race craft and ended up winning many times. Ashton had a successful Junior 1 LO206 stint as well before moving up to racing two-cycle karts in the fall of 2020.

Right away Ashton showed speed to competitive race both IAME Swifts and Micro Rok engine packages. He made the podium in his very first micro swift race. He got his feet wet at the national level in the fall of 2020 and competed against the best in the United States. He ended up winning several times in 2020 jumping in the deep end and he was off to a quick start.

2022 Racing Review

2022 has been a dominating year for Ashton Woon. As of October 2022 Ashton has taken the green flag in 35 races resulting in:

  • 9 x 1st Place Finishes
  • 23 Podiums
  • 29 Top 10’s
  • Top 3 in 3 different National Championships

Winner of the biggest toughest Championship in North America USPKS (United States Pro Kart Series)

2022 was Ashton’s second year of racing across the United States in multiple racing series. Whether it be a new track or a track with experience, Ashton has been the model of consistency with a great pace every weekend.

The year started with the SKUSA Winter Series, where he finished second in the Championship with three P2 finishes in the four-race series.

Challenge of the Americas, Ashton stepped up to race Mini and finished third in the Championship. He was battling to win the Championship, but two unfortunate issues hurt the points out of our control.

In March, the USPKS National Championship began in Orlando. One of Ashton’s goals was to win the USPKS Championship this year. This Championship is the one to win with North America’s deepest, toughest fields. A total of 66 competitors over six races, and Ashton won three of them (crossed the line for a 4th win but got a penalty for IR), finished P2 in two and P3 in one race. He dominated all year long. This series typically has 30-40+ racers every race.

Ashton accomplished another one of his goals this year, winning the IAME Grand National Championship at GoPro Motorplex in NC a few weeks ago.

2021 Racing Review

2021 would be his first full year competing all over the United States racing against the best of the best from the USA and other countries as well. To say 2021 was successful would be an understatement.

He raced in 44 races. Of those 44 races he won 10 times, made the podium 20 times, had 28 top 5’s and 39 top 10’s. In the two biggest and most competitive series in the states SKUSA Pro Tour and USPKS he finished top 6 in both Championships out of roughly 60+ competitors in each series. Those championship results could have easily been even better but we had some bad luck getting taken out several rounds.

Along with those championships Ashton competed in several others winning one of them and finishing top 3 in several others. Capping off 2021 was Super Nationals 24, which is one of the biggest go kart races in the entire world with over 500 entries from around the globe. Ashton qualified P2 of 50 missing pole by only 2/100’s! He finished the heat races P2, P3 and had bad luck getting spun in one of the heats finishing 22nd. He ended up finishing on the podium at SuperNats24, the hardest podium to get on and it was incredible not to mention it was his very first SuperNats!
